At my last StrollerFit class, they announced they were putting together a team to run the Race for the Cure on June 7, so what better motivator for me to get out there and run than to sign up to run this with friends. I just registered this morning, so now I'm committed! I have four weeks to gear up for running a 5k, I think that's totally doable, especially since I don't expect to break any records with my time. Then I will hopefully be able to maintain the running until I officially start half marathon training at the beginning of August. Wish me luck!

Next Step
I haven't done much (actually any) running toward my goal of running The Half in November, but I have been still doing my StrollerFit classes a few times a week, and I'm so amazed by my progress from it. Not only am I in my pre-pregnancy clothes, but I'm even in some of my skinny clothes! It's such a good feeling.

New Year's Resolution: Step 1
Well, I've got to start somewhere if I want to run a half marathon in 9 months, so I have signed up for a StrollerFit class. Charlie and I have been doing it for a month now. Sad to say, it's pretty much the first real exercise I've done in more than a year. We meet at a mall and do some great circuit workouts. But most of all, it's a lot of fun. I love that I can get a good workout and have fun with Charlie at the same time. The babies stay in the strollers almost the whole time, but we spend lots of time singing to them, tickling, and other silly stuff. After only a month, I can finally get my buckle back to my pre-pregnancy notch. I figure as soon as the weather starts getting nicer I may actually even venture out for a jog.

New Year's Resolution
Today is January 4, and most New Year's Resolutions are probably forgotten by now, but I actually made one this year so I figured I better post it so I'm accountable for it! My resolution is to run the DRC Half Marathon (affectionately called "The Half") again in November. I don't think they've set a date for it yet, but it's usually the first weekend in November, so I figure I have plenty of time to train (or procrastinate training, depends on how you look at it). I have run The Half three times, the last time being right after I found out I was pregnant, and it was the first time I ran it without walking. Each time I've done it, I've despised the training, but have a great sense of accomplishment when I've completed it, and this past time I was in the best shape I had been in in about 5 years.
So there it is. My New Year's Resolution. Now it's your responsibility to ask me about it every couple months to make sure I don't give up on it. Because if I don't do it, I'm blaming all of you for not holding me accountable. :)
