Happy Birthday my sweet boy

My precious Charlie turned 1 today, and my how the year has flown! We had a fun beach-themed party today with all his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was so special to have them all together. I'll post more pictures later...

New and Improved Charlie Video

Here is the latest video of our mover and shaker, CDub!

Dave had Charlie's hair combed all cute after his bath yesterday. Doesn't he look so precious? He could probably go for a haircut, but I'm putting it off. We'll let it go shaggy for a while.

Charlie is starting to walk more and more. It seems like he's doing it a lot more just in the last couple days. He used to need a lot of prompting, but now he does it well on his own.

He's had a lot of fun at swim lessons. We're excited our new house is only a couple blocks from the neighborhood pool so we can go there a lot!

home sweet home - UPDATED

***Updated 6/18*** We got the signed offer last night, so now we're officially under contract! Whoohoo! We'll do our inspection on Friday, and then the option period ends on Tuesday. At this point, we're the only ones who can back out for any reason.

It's been a long few weeks, but we have our new home! The first house we put an offer on last week did not pan out, and at the time we were feeling pretty discouraged. So we went back out to look at houses on Saturday and actually found two we loved. Today we put an offer on one and they accepted it this afternoon!! I'm so happy that they agreed to so quickly. Unfortunately, the husband is out of town, so he cannot sign the contract until tomorrow, so we're still holding our breath a little until then. But it sounds like they are just as happy that we're buying it as we are, because they had a previous offer fall through and they close on their new house at the end of the month. The best news is that we are able to close before we have to get out of our current house, so we can move directly into our new house and avoid doing any storage. Whoohoo!

We're so happy with the house. We can really picture our family living there for many years to come. Here's a sneak preview:

Thank you all for your prayers and support over the last few weeks. It's been quite a roller coaster, but it will soon be at an end in our new home. We can't wait for you all to come see it!

SOLD!

The sale of our house became final on Monday when we finalized the repairs we'd do for the buyer. Whoohoo! Of course it's never fun to put money into a house you're leaving, but we feel like it was very fair. Now the only thing left to do is the closing.

We have put an offer on a house in Flower Mound, and we're just waiting to hear back. Wish us luck!

Race for the Cure

Despite not training for it, I did do the Race for the Cure 5k last Saturday. I had hope this would launch my training for the Half, but no such luck with all the house stuff going on. I am glad I did it, though, because I really enjoyed the time with my other StrollerFit mommies. There were so many people participating in the race, that we actually ended up just walking the whole thing since it was pretty crowded. And that was fine with me!

Sue and Macy

Sue and Macy came to visit last week while Macy was on her way to visit her grandparents in Florida. We had a nice visit, despite me being so exhausted from all the house stuff. We all went to lunch at the American Girl Boutique and Bistro, and we had a real fun time there. Macy even got to choose a doll to join us for lunch.

Day at the Zoo

Aunt Nancy, Granny and Grandaddy took Charlie to the zoo for the first time last Saturday. They said it was fun and that Charlie loved the white tiger. I'm sure it's the first of many trips to come!

Pool time

Charlie had his first pool time at playgroup last week. He loved splashing in the water. He would not stop smiling. On Monday we start a Parent and Tot swim class, which I know he'll love.

Whew!

What a week it has been! Over the weekend we had 24 showings, and by Monday morning we had 5 offers on our house! We were (and still are) in shock at how quickly it happened. We've accepted an offer and are in the option period, so the buyer has until midnight Tuesday to change their mind. Her inspector came Wednesday, so now we're negotiating repairs that we'll make. Everything should be a done deal as long as we can all agree on that. We're set to close June 27, but we have possession until July 6.

We have spent a lot of time looking at houses, but unfortunately have not found our next home yet. There have been about 4-5 that fit our criteria exactly, yet they just don't seem right for one reason or another. So please say a little prayer that we will find our home soon!

We've somehow managed to even have a little fun during all this, so hopefully I'll get a chance to post some pictures soon, but for now, I'm just whipped!
