Father's Day

For Father's Day we tok a tour of the Texas Rangers ballpark. We've become big Rangers fan, so this was a real treat for the boys and I (for Dave it was practically just another day at the "office"). The boys loved walking in the players' footsteps.

Summer Fun

Dave worked at the Regional baseball tournament at TCU, so the boys and I went to cheer for the Frogs on their way to the College World Series.

Dave and the boys started to build a model rocket.

The boys had their first sleep over. They all had a lot of fun, and other than them talking until late, it was a pretty quiet night.

Nate completed the Lil' Dragons level of taekwondo. He is now a senior white belt and has moved on to the "big kid" classes. We're really proud of his hard work.

Nate created a plot for world domination.

I attended a wedding of a good friend from church and enjoyed celebrating with so many friends from our small group.

Guys week

Dave and the boys had their 4th annual "Guys Week" while I was gone. This year they hit the road for part of it and went to baseball games in Kansas City and St. Louis. Dave's hope is that eventually they will visit every ballpark in the Majors.

You know, it's really too bad they don't have any fun while I'm gone.

January

We celebrated Nate's birthday with a party at Chuck E. Cheese's. He had such a good time with his friends, but he got a little unsure about things when Chuck E. came out and wanted all the birthday kids to come to the front. Nate took off his crown to try to hide the fact that it was his birthday.

Bowling!!

C lost 4 of his top teeth right around the same time, so he had a nice, big gap in his mouth for a while.

We spent a ton of time playing LIFE this winter, and here the boys were even trying to play it themselves during rest time.

Rough and tumble boys

Watch out world, I'm playing catch up on the blog!

Having two boys means that bumps and bruises are not uncommon around here, but at the end of last year we were officially initiated in the broken bone and stitches clubs. Within just a few weeks of each other, Nate fell and broke his collarbone, and Charlie fell and hit his head on the coffee table. Ouch! Both have fully recovered, however it was pretty traumatic at the time. Nate was in significant pain for the first 24 hours, but after that we we constantly find him with his sling up past his elbow. Charlie was so brave at the ER, but was pretty concerned that he had lost a chunk of his head because the gash was so big. He thought a chunk of his brain was gone. :( Both have healed up well. Charlie still has a pretty good scar on his forehead, but the doctor did a great job stitching him up, so it doesn't look too bad.

not a fan of his new accessory

in the ER right after the doctor finished stitching him up (yep, that's blood on his shirt)

all smiles after getting the stitches out 5 days later

Fall Ball

This summer and fall solidified the Keeney's as a baseball family. The boys loved watching the Rangers all summer long, and this fall they both played in our town's little league. Nate played for the A's and had Dave as one of his assistant coaches. Unfortunately, he broke his collarbone midseason, so he wasn't able to play in the last four games. Charlie played his third season with the Rangers, and it was so fun to see how much those boys are progressing. We're grateful for such a great team to be a part of.

After the season ended, Charlie's team had a parents vs. kids game. Parents had to use their son's glove, had to swing the bat with only one had and could only fast-walk to the bases. The kids won 9-5, and Charlie caught one of my pop flies to get me out. I was too proud of him to be disappointed. :)

October Fun

Watch out world! I'm getting caught up on the blog! :)

Annual visit to the pumpkin patch:

You can see the exact same picture of Nate from last year HERE.

Nate and his toys

When I was going through my pictures from the last couple months, I found a lot of photos of Nate with toys. I guess he was proud of his creations and wanted me to document them. :)

I'm pretty sure Nate took this picture. Wesley obviously isn't a toy, but he is definitely one of Nate's FAVORITE things.
