Scripture Memory

I've recently been trying to memorize scripture. I would practice with Charlie's "help" just with the hope of modeling it to him, but my little guy surprised me and showed me he's capable of so much more that I give him credit for. I was recently reviewing some of the verses with him before bed, and next thing I know he's reciting one of them on his own:
He made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor 5:21
Granted, Charlie's version is closer to: "He made him who knew no sin to be our behalf, that ri-chi-ness in Him." Close enough. It is so precious to hear him say it in his little boy voice. I pray that both he and Nate will grow up desiring to know God's word and write in on their hearts.

Our home group from church also just decided to do some scripture memory, so we're going to tackle the whole book of Philippians! I'm excited about the challenge. So far I'm four verses in. :)

AHH I love Scripture Memory. Whenever Haley was 4 we were doing sooo good. I was doing that in addition to all the bedtime routine. She still knows the verses that she learned then.Long ones too :) You will be shocked at what they can retain. Hand movements help too. Haley learned the song to the books of the bible. Old and New Testament also at 4 years old :) I like your blog!
