Me and My Gramma

My grandmother instilled in me at a very early age a love of baseball, specifically for the San Diego Padres. Some of my first memories are of going to day games at Jack Murphy stadium. So it was only fitting that we would both make the trip to Cooperstown to the Hall of Fame induction of "Mr Padre" himself, Tony Gwynn. It was a very special weekend and thanks to my good friend Brad Horn with the Hall of Fame we received VIP treatment. We attended the Hall of Fame press conference on Saturday and had reserved seats behind the Hall of Famers friends and family during the induction on Sunday. That was important considering the record crowd that was there (estimated at 75,000). 55 of the 61 Hall of Famers that are still living were in attendance (another record). Gramma and I are already talking about coming back in another 10 years when Padres pitcher Trevor Hoffman is inducted. At that point she will be 101! I'm so lucky to have a grandmother that I can call one of my best friends.
