Catching Up

I feel like I've been falling behind on posting, so I thought I'd lump it all together:

Charlie had his four-month checkup on Tuesday. He weighed in at 19 lbs 12 oz and is 27.5 inches long. He braved four shots, but Momma and Daddy ended up getting our flu shots while we were there, so he wasn't alone. Have I mentioned how much I love our pediatrician? I always feel so comfortable asking her questions, and she never makes me feel stupid for asking. She has two young children herself, so I also like that I can get her "mommy" opinion alongside her "doctor" opinion. And she's just so sweet with Charlie. You can tell she loves her job. If you're looking for a ped. in the Plano area, I highly recommend Dr. Mehendale of Willow Bend Pediatrics. (And thanks to Meredith for the initial recommendation!)

Here's Charlie with his Aunt Nancy a couple weeks ago. She and Uncle Chris babysat him last Saturday while Dave worked a Mavs game and I worked a TCU game. We get to introduce Charlie to their dog Booger at dinner on Saturday.

Here's Charlie hanging out in Sue's front yard waiting for Macy's bus after school. I wanted to take a lot more pictures because the light was so good, but my batteries died as I took this one.

Charlie finally got to wear his Vikings outfit this week. I say "finally" because it's finally starting to cool down here, and the Vikings finally got a good win. Although, it was a tough one for Charlie because it was a win over one of his other favorite teams, the Chargers. My Aunt Connie and Uncle Ed sent this outfit as a shower gift back in May, and I remember thinking at the time that it seemed like forever until my baby would wear it because it looked so big.

And finally, I get to brag about my husband. A couple Sundays ago we went to brunch at Breadwinners after church (you have to try their banana bread french toast!). We were waiting for a table when Dave handed me an envelope with the above inside. He and my most awesome brother-in-law Doug decided to send Sue and I off for a fun girls' weekend in Vegas. Aren't they the best? It was a HUGE surprise. Needless to say, we are both looking forward to a getaway. I have to admit, I LOVE Vegas, and I don't even gamble a dime. I've actually been there a ton: once for Spring Break my senior year of college, once for a work "retreat," once for a U2 concert, once for a wedding and most recently when Dave worked a Pro Beach Volleyball tournament there. I just love seeing the sights, eating all the food, and people watching. Sue has never been, so I'm looking forward to showing her around!
