So here's how it all went down. I got up with Charlie about 6:15 yesterday morning and had breakfast like normal. About 7:30 I told Mom and Dave that I wanted to go back to bed, so I did. I woke up about 8:45 with wet pants, so at first I thought my water broke, but I actually was bleeding again. So we called my doctor and headed to the hospital. I felt a few contractions, but not all that much more than I've been feeling for weeks. Once at the hospital we could tell the baby was OK, and I was at 5 cm, so we proceeded with labor. I got a little pitocin at 11:00 to move things along, and then the waiting began. We didn't have to wait too long, though. I got my epidural at 12:45, rested for about a hour, then I could tell things were really starting to move. So we started preparing to push, and started pushing about 2:45. Then Nathan entered our lives at 3:08. Twenty minutes of pushing is definitely better than the 2 1/2 hours I pushed with Charlie!

Nathan
Here are a few more pictures from yesterday. Charlie got to meet Nathan pretty soon after he was born. He seemed a little overwhelmed and clung to Dave at first, but there were still a lot of people in the room, so I don't think he had any idea what was going on. He saw Nathan and said "bay-bee." He showed interest in Nathan, but actually seemed most interested in my IV. I'm anxious to see how he does when we bring Nathan home.

Congrats! I am so glad you had a fairly easy, non-eventful labor after the scare earlier and bed rest. He is a cutie.
What a beautiful family. I am so happy for you all and glad that things went well! Just an FYI - I am going to be a grandmother in August-Woo-hoo. We are very excited. Look forward to seeing Charlie and meeting Nathan. Blessings to you all.

Congratulations! Very excited for you all!
Thanks be to God for the gift of children and especially Nathan and his big brother, Charlie! Thinking of you with love and prayers!

Nathan is adorable but I don't know how he can be any more adorable than sweet Charlie...that face is so cute! I can't believe you delivered a 9 1/2 pound baby. You deserve a medal! Hope everything goes smoothly at home and the boys are easy and good!
