Today is the day I have been looking forward to ever since the Mavs lost in the playoffs. It's opening day of Cowboys training camp! I'm a big football fan, and this year I think I'm looking forward to it more than ever. The summer is always a slow sports time since I really couldn't care less about baseball. And especially with all the current negative sports stories of Barry Bonds, Michael Vick and crooked NBA ref, I'm ready to actually cheer for a team on the field rather than listen to all these stories.
To me, there's just nothing better than spending Sunday afternoons in the fall watching football. College football is fine, but for me NFL is king. I like that football is only once a week, so every game matters compared to other sports. And I love the game within a game of trying to get that first down; it makes every play count.
So I sure hope Charlie at least somewhat likes sports since both his momma and daddy are pretty big fans!
