Here's a quick update on the house:
I've had a couple anonymous comments asking for more details on the house. (Remember I will not post anonymous comments.) I would prefer not to post details of the house here, but feel free to contact me directly and I'd be happy to chat with you more about it and send you the virtual tour. If you don't know how to get a hold of me, you can leave a comment with your email address and I can contact you without posting the comment so the whole world won't see your contact info. Otherwise have your Realtor do a search for 3 bedroom homes in the 75007 zip code and it will come up.
We feel like we have had a TON of showings already. Nine yesterday and three already this morning. Whew! The first people who looked at it actually submitted an offer, but they withdrew before we could even respond. No biggie, but it made for a roller coaster of a morning yesterday! We've been getting positive feedback, so hopefully that will turn into multiple offers. We're going out to start looking at houses today, so that should be fun!

On the market
I've been absent from the blogosphere for a while because we've been swamped getting our house ready to sell, and as of about 10:00 a.m. today, we are officially on the market. I had no idea how much work it would be to get the house ready but it looks great. Now we're just praying for God to provide us with a buyer and wonderful new home. We'll be looking in the Flower Mound area for something with a little more room for us to grow into in the future. We've been in this house for 5 1/2 years, which is longer than we thought we would be, but it's been a great house for us. I'll be a little sad to leave it, but I'm excited to see where we end up.So if you know anyone looking for a 3 bedroom home in Carrollton, send them our way!

Weekend
I'm finally getting around to post pictures from last weekend. As I mentioned, we was a big weekend. We had Granny's graduation on Friday, and then we dedicated Charlie at church on Sunday. My parents also came in town for the dedication. However I just realized I barely took any pictures of them while they were here! But we had a lot of fun, even if there isn't much photographic evidence.

More!
Over the weekend, Charlie started signing the word "more" consistently during mealtime. I was so happy to see it, because I was starting to get frustrated since we've been modeling it to him since December. At first I think he just thought it meant "eat" because he did it one morning right after he woke up when he must have been hungry. He also did it once when I was pushing back his lunch time a little, and I think he was letting me know he would rather eat now. I haven't seen any other signs yet, but he definitely knows what we mean when we sign "milk," "all done," and "doggie," so I hope we should be seeing those soon!
He also is clapping a lot, especially when we start singing "If You're Happy and You Know It." He loves it when I do "Itsy Bitsy Spider." When we sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," it sounds like he tries to mimic us singing "Up above the world so high..." by saying "ap abab." It's so cute. :)

Clearing off the card
We had a big weekend this weekend, so I better catch up on some of my pictures so I can post the weekend's photos:
Before Charlie started taking steps on his own, Dave figured out that the exercise band worked pretty well for training. Charlie took his first steps on his own just a few minutes after I took this picture.

Charlie and Cody got together for another play date last week. It's fun to watch them get so big! Leslie was hoping Charlie could show Cody how to clap or use a sippy cup, but Charlie taught him how to climb stairs instead.

First Steps
It seems like just yesterday Charlie was standing on his own. Wait a second... it was yesterday! Last night, my parents came over to babysit Charlie while Gretchen and I finally went out for my birthday dinner at the Palm. Gretchen told them that if Charlie walked while we were gone not to tell us. Then as we were about to head out the door my dad suggested that Charlie needed to walk before we left so we wouldn't miss it. Taking his cue, Charlie took four steps on his own to his Grandaddy. While I didn't get the first steps on tape I did get the next few attempts. Here's a short music video.

Standing Up!
Charlie has started standing (however briefly) on his own. Here is a video clip of him from last night.

Next Step
I haven't done much (actually any) running toward my goal of running The Half in November, but I have been still doing my StrollerFit classes a few times a week, and I'm so amazed by my progress from it. Not only am I in my pre-pregnancy clothes, but I'm even in some of my skinny clothes! It's such a good feeling.
At my last StrollerFit class, they announced they were putting together a team to run the Race for the Cure on June 7, so what better motivator for me to get out there and run than to sign up to run this with friends. I just registered this morning, so now I'm committed! I have four weeks to gear up for running a 5k, I think that's totally doable, especially since I don't expect to break any records with my time. Then I will hopefully be able to maintain the running until I officially start half marathon training at the beginning of August. Wish me luck!

Season's End
Well, for the second straight year the Mavericks were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round. It's been a tough year for the team. It should be an interesting summer with a lot of new faces and a new coach. On the broadcast side, this was a long year but a hopeful summer is ahead of us with a complete redesign of our show. I am really excited about the role I will play in creating a new look that will entertain all of our viewers.
I am especially looking forward to getting lots of time off with Gretchen and Charlie. I love my job but it takes me away from my family a lot. I am thankful that I have a wife who is so patient and understanding of the crazy schedule I have during basketball season. The summer is what we look forward to every year and it's finally here!
